Personally, I'm a fan of Panasonic's PV-GS series for my uses and for my budget. I am a stickler for quality video, and I like to edit. I want as many manual controls as possible. Low-light performance isn't very important to me. I want good-looking video with great color rendering.

This series of camcorders includes many 3-CCD offerings, which render color the same way professional camcorders do. I'm very pleased with the colors that come from my PV-GS65, and I like its manual features.
