A digital camcorder is a portable recording gadget which helps in recording the live video and audio formats to any secondary storage device like cd, tape etc and the stored images can be retrieved later whenever needed. A plasma television is the next generation flat display in which the ultraviolet rays are outputted and fused with a fluorescent substance. A plasma television display is much lighter and smaller. Most of the newly developed plasma screen televisions feature more compatible components. VCR, DVD player and stereo equipments can be operated without any problem in the newly developed plasma television set.

Connecting a digital camcorder to a plasma screen television set is very easy and interesting to. The equipments required to connect a digital camcorder to a plasma screen television set are digital camcorder, audio cable, video cable, DV tape and television. Remote control is used as an optional equipment for this connection.

The audio cable and video cable used in this demonstration is of common style with consumer based one chip camcorders. One end of the cable will feature a yellow RCA composite video and with white stereo audio connection. The other end of the cable will possess a 1/8 inch jack which is similar to a head phone jack.

On higher end professional 3 chip camcorders, it is likely to feature a yellow red white connection on the camera. Another alternative is to use the red white stereo cables and S-video connection.

Most of the newly modeled plasma screen television sets come with yellow red white connection in front or on the side of the panel. If it is not available on the front or side of the device, it will be provided on the back of the device. But if the older model does not have yellow red white connection, purchase an RF modulator which helps converting the yellow red white signals to RF or coaxial signals. The cable that is already connected to the plasma screen television near the yellow red white input is S-video connection. This cable on the television has nothing to do now; so disregard it.

After finding the yellow red white connections, attach all the cables to the plasma screen television set first. Make sure that the cable length is enough to reach from plasma television to digital camcorder. After ensuring its length, insert the cable into the color matching slots on the TV which is labeled as video in and audio in. If S-video connection is used, disregard the yellow composite cable. Attach the S-video and re-white stereo cables to the plasma screen television set.

After connecting the cable to the plasma television yellow red white connection, attach cables to camcorders. The 1/8 inch jack is pushed into the slot labeled with Audio/Video out on the camcorder. Attach the yellow red white connection in the camcorder as attached in the plasma television. This time, match the color corded cables with the connection labeled as audio/video out. After making yellow red and white cable connection in both television and camcorder, power on the plasma screen television set.

Now, turn the camcorder to VCR mode. On the panel of the camcorder near the power button, there is an option to playback the recorded videos. The button is labeled as VCR or Play back turn on it for changing the camcorder to VCR mode. After this, insert the tape rewind it to first and hit the play button. Before watching the video clips, make sure that the tape is rewound. If the tape is scanned through out to locate a short clip, disregard the rewinding. The main point is that the camcorder must play the video clipping in its LCD screen after hitting the play button.

After playing the video clipping in the LCD screen of the camcorder, power on the plasma television and move to Aux channel. All the plasma screen televisions with yellow red white connection or S-video input have an auxiliary channel. This channel can be obtained by moving the channels down or up until the video clipping played in the camcorder is viewed. It will take a couple of presses to find the aux channel. If the plasma screen TV is auto programmed to cables and satellites, there is no need to press the channel up or down to find the aux channel. Only press the TV/Video button in the remote control until the video clipping from the camcorder is viewed.

If the video clipping in the camcorder is not viewed on the plasma screen television, check every connection cable is connected properly. After making the connection, the images stored in the camcorders will be viewed in the big screen of the plasma screen television set.
